Thomas represents his country at water polo

Thomas Forrest, 13, has just returned from Spain after representing England at U14s.

Sedgefield Water Polo Club’s Thomas Forrest, 13, was one of 41 athletes who recently returned from representing England U14’s in the Habawaba Spain International Tournament in Lloret de Mar.

The event was the first time Thomas and many of his friends from the England Talent centres, had travelled abroad to play polo for their country.

Thomas represented England Lions, who played six games during the tournament against teams such as France, Portugal, Spain and Andorra.

The team came away in a very well deserved 11th place and gained very valuable international match experience while making new friends from across the country.

Thomas began his water polo journey at just eight years of age before progressing to train with the North East Regional Academy and subsequently at England Talent Centre.

His success is testament to the hard work he puts in at training under the guidance of a coaching team led by his elder brother, Adam Woods.

Sedgefield Water Polo Club offers a beginner session at Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre on a Saturday afternoon for those interested in trying out this fun and exciting sport.

Sessions must be booked in advance on the Club app. Check sedgefieldwaterpolo.com for further information and joining instructions, or email sedgefieldwp[@]hotmail[.]com or contact 07579 030598.
