Bishop Auckland Street Food Market is making a return, bringing global flavours, local craft beers, and free family-friendly entertainment to the marketplace on the last Friday of every month.
Kicking off on Friday 28 March, the vibrant outdoor markets are set to be a highlight of the calendar from March to October, injecting life into the historical marketplace and driving footfall into the town.
A collaboration between Baccanalia and Bridge Creative, the market has grown into a must-visit event, drawing over 20,000 visitors last year, through rain and shine.
Each month, visitors can expect an exciting mix of street food vendors, live performances, and free community activities, all designed to support local businesses and create a welcoming atmosphere for residents and visitors alike.
Baccanalia founder, Thomas Wales said: “As we embrace 2025, we remain committed to supporting local food producers, businesses, and artists.
“This year, we’re adding some special line-ups to keep excitement levels soaring. We hope the community continues to support us in making Bishop Auckland a top UK food destination.
“Baccanalia sincerely thank Bishop Auckland Town Council for their generous funding for the third consecutive year.
“Their support is essential in revitalising our town and ensuring events like the Food Market can thrive.”
Ben Tinkler of Bridge Creative added: “The market just gets better each year, and we’re so excited for this year’s offering.
“The event is also a fantastic opportunity for us to provide genuine work experience to adults with learning disabilities and autism, giving them a meaningful role in an event they love.”
