Saint John’s School celebrated the end of half term with real enthusiasm on Friday 12th February.
Year 4 planned and delivered the service with the children speaking clearly and confidently – a testament to the work they had put into the delivery.
“I was absolutely blown away by the service and the voices of the children singing,” said one Dad, who wrote to the school after the service to say ‘well done’.
“For that hour or so, the outside world was miles away.”
“School is about the whole person” said Revd. David.
“That is the mind, the body, and the spirit. Enabling our children to have the opportunity to explore their spirituality in a safe, happy environment allows them to grow up in the wholest sense.”
The children presented the learning they had explored over the last half term using the phrase ‘all of God is everywhere’ to explain the Christian understanding of God as Father and Mother of all.
They then shared bread and wine with the rest of the school, a symbol of a family wrapped up together in the love of God through Christ.
With story, singing, and laughter, the smiles on the faces of the children as they left the church said it all.
