On 29 March, Spennymoor Youth Band, under their musical director Fiona Casewell, will travel to Hull to represent the North of England at the National Youth Brass Band Championships of Great Britain.
Fiona told Spennymoor News: “Our players range from eight years old up to teens and we are also lucky to have members of Spennymoor Town band who come along to support our young players each week.
“The band is looking forward to the trip and are all excited to be playing at such a bigger event than we are used to and are hoping to be the best we can be.”
Hugh Stephenson, President of the band added: ”We would like to thank Spennymoor Town Council, Spennymoor FC Supporters Club, Durham Animal Feeds and Fortis Vision for their financial support for this and other Youth Band projects in the future. ”
