The last Veterans Breakfast Club of the year took place on Saturday 3 December.

The Spennymoor Veterans Breakfast Club (SVBC) recently had its last get together of the year.

This took place in Wetherspoons’s Grand Electric Hall, on Saturday, 3 December, which saw its highest attendance of veterans to date.

Nineteen veterans, with some of them coming for the first time, attended the club’s eleventh breakfast since its inauguration on Saturday 31 July, 2021.

The SVBC usually hold its breakfast get togethers once every six weeks.

Organiser of the club, British Army veteran, Pete Molloy said, “Our Breakfast Club get togethers are very informal.

“It’s good for veterans, especially those who are not originally from the area and don’t know many people, to come to a venue and meet other veterans with similar military backgrounds.

“On behalf of the Spennymoor Veterans Breakfast Club, I would like to thank Wetherspoons for hosting us and to wish the staff and the people of the Spennymoor parish area a Merry Christmas.”

The next get together will be held in Wetherspoons on Saturday, 14 January at 11am.

Veterans wanting to attend can either contact Pete Molloy by emailing molloy418 (at) googlemail (dot).
com or by calling 07961 753597.

Veterans can also get more information by joining the club’s Facebook group.
