Spenny Youth Fest set to return

Spenny Youth Fest ’26 makes a return this Summer to Spennymoor Youth and Community Centre. The Association is appealing for youth clubs, groups and service providers to register for a stand. The one day event funded by Livin, Durham County Council and The National Lottery Community Fund, will take place Saturday 22 August, 12-3pm.

In 2024 the first Youth Fest attracted 400 people and 40 organisations. The day encourages children, young people and their families to drop in and see what youth organisations and activities are out there for them. The event will include free activities to try, tasters, hair, makeup and nail artists plus street food.

Organisations are encouraged to bring simple activities or equipment that young people can touch and try as part of their stand. There will also be demonstration space and an open mic where organisations can showcase activities such as dance, music and sports.

Spenny Youth Fest ’24 proved to be a great opportunity for organisations to connect with young people, promote what they do to the wider community and network with other groups, clubs and service providers. The event organisers hope to repeat the success.
