Bishop Auckland Hospital’s stroke rehabilitation unit recently unveiled a specialist exercise bike, in memory of Detective Sergeant Dave Storey.
The 53 year-old father of two, who lived in Darlington, died in March last year, just a week into his retirement from Durham Constabulary.
Dave’s family made the biggest donation towards the £6,000 MOTO-med bike, and think the enthusiastic hiker would have appreciated the equipment had he recovered and needed physiotherapy.
Julie Ann Chapman, physiotherapy assistant at Bishop Auckland Hospital said, “The bike is all-singing, all-dancing and will be invaluable to us and help many patients.”
