Auckland / Chilton Croquet Club visited Bamburgh for their latest Croquet North league match, reports Richard Peck.
The game was played in the shadow of the imposing castle, which inspired Carol, Marcia and the two Janes to play well and return home with a solid 11-7 victory.
ACC have no matches now until they host a team from Bedale in a friendly on 17 July, then a Croquet North league match at home to Alnmouth on 27 July.
You’ll find us practising on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday afternoons from 2pm until 4pm-ish at the Miners Recreation Ground at Chilton, just off the A167 behind the Jet petrol station.
Come along and have a go for free. Just wear a rainproof jacket and hat and flat shoes and you’ll be ready to go! Our members will show you how to get started.
