Shildon Institute Singers perform for Ukraine

Shildon Institute Singers performed a 30-minute programme at Locomotion during Eurovision final day last Saturday.

Locomotion welcomed Shildon Institute Singers last weekend for a performance of popular songs as part of the #HelpUkraineSong campaign.

Taking place on Eurovision final day, the campaign brought together people across the UK to show solidarity with Ukraine by signing, dancing, miming and signing With a Little Help From My Friends – united through music with Ukraine. The Singers treated Locomotion visitors to a 30-minute programme of songs from their 2023 Spring Season lyric bank – including a song in Ukrainian.

Shildon Institute Singers meet at the Institute on Fridays at 6pm. New members are welcome. For more information, click here.

The Singers are coached by local singer Rosie Bradford. Rosie loves to help people feel good about their singing voice. For more information on Rosie and her work, please visit here.

The #HelpUkraineSong campaign is a global grassroots movement to unite the world through music on Eurovision finals day, in a musical moment of solidarity for Ukraine.
