After the previous weekโ€™s reverse at Whitley Bay, Shildon quickly returned to winning ways, hitting North Shields for six in a 2-6 league win at the Daren Persson Stadium before repeating the feat in midweek with a 6-0 home win over Alnwick in the third round of the League.

An Adam Lennox hat-trick (10, 34, 45) and a Billy Greulich-Smith double (28, 43) had the Railwayman racing into a 1-5 half-time lead before Ashton Houlahan (76) finished the visitorsโ€™ scoring in North Shields with Ryan Carr (39) and Lee Mason (84) providing little consolation for the home support.

Returning to Dean Street for a midweek cup tie, Shildon maintained their momentum, giving no quarter against their Division Two opponents who saw the same number of goals flash past them.

It was Ben Reayโ€™s turn to grab a hat-trick (33, 60, 67) with Jon Weirs (41), Elliott Day (43) and Luke Spalding (66) also chipping in.

Itโ€™s back to league duty on Saturday with fifth place Newcastle Benfield the visitors to Dean Street.
