Shildon families enjoyed an entertaining October break with many events held to celebrate Halloween earning rave reviews. Jubilee Fields Community Centre held a packed event with children enjoying a foam party disco by Candy Kids Entertainment where they also dined on hotdogs and juice.
Tickets were so quickly snatched up that the organisers had to add a later party on the same night to cope with demand.
The evening organised by the centre and partially funded by Livin led the children in traditional games like Pass the Parcel and Musical Statues.
There was also a raffle on the night for baskets of Halloween treats which raised over £500, with the money going towards providing more events over Christmas and into next year.
Meanwhile, the Civic Hall saw many families filling the venue for a free event where children delightfully took part in various games, such as having to quickly collect a parent or carer’s shoe for a sweet, causing much fun and laughter around the room as laces were quickly undone.
The crowd danced away the evening on the disco floor where characters from Beetlejuice gave out free sweets from baskets.
