It has been an amazing few months for Ferryhill’s Ambassadors for Community Change.
An Environment Award, a prestigious High Sheriff Award and now their reputation goes before them as the Minister for Education, Gillian Keegan requested specifically to meet with Dean Bank Ambassadors.
Paul Howell MP for Sedgefield, who accompanied the minister to meet the young ambassadors said: “What truly made today special was the opportunity for our children to engage directly with the Secretary of State, asking insightful questions and sharing their perspectives.
“It’s moments like these that remind us of the importance of putting our children at the heart of education policymaking.”
Glenys from Approach Too, who helped facilitate the meeting added: “The role of the Ambassadors is to find out what children and young people say they need to feel happy, healthy and safe in our community.
“We then to try and work with those adults who can help them to bring about meaningful change, for example councillors, the Police and Crime Commissioner, the police themselves, local groups and MPs. Well done Ambassadors, you are all doing Ferryhill proud.”
