Presidents and members of the Rotary Club of Bishop Auckland popped into the Butterwick Hospice for lunch and a tour recently, when handing over their donation of £3,500, which they raised at a recent golf tournament.
Joe Ward, past President said, “I am really impressed by the services the Butterwick offer and inside the building is warm and friendly, not at all clinical, it is a really positive place.”
Helen Kirby, fundraiser said, “We love to have the opportunity to show supporters around our Hospice, it gives them an insight into what they are raising funds for and where the money is spent.
“Without people like this we couldn’t survive, we rely on a huge amount of our funding from the community to pay towards our running costs. All the services the Butterwick provide are completely free.
“If you would like to have a look round the Hospice our door is always open.”
