On Sunday 27 April, Michael Fitzgerald with two friends, Eric Stapleton and Michael Brown will be raising funds for Alzheimer’s Society. The trio are taking part in the Etape Loch Ness, which is Scotland’s largest closed road cycling event.
The event is taking place around iconic Loch Ness, with the full route covering 66 miles.
The event must be completed within 5 hours 38 minutes.
The stunning 360° route around the loch starts and finishes in the highland capital of Inverness.
The King of the Mountain stage features a 4.8 mile climb gaining 380 metres in height with a gradient reaching 12% at times.

Alzheimer’s Society is working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.
They do this by giving help to those living with dementia today and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding ground-breaking research.
