The Road Safety Squad at Timothy Hackworth Primary have been working with local Police Officers in Shildon to spread the word to drivers to reduce their speed and slow down.
The Road Safety Squad are also very concerned about the dangerous parking around the school, despite the yellow lines being refreshed.
They have designed their own parking tickets, which could be used to place on the car windscreens of offending drivers.
The Squad has worked with PCSO Jessica Brown and PCSO Holly Cowton to judge the parking ticket entries.
The police officers were so impressed they took all the children’s entries to show their colleagues. The winning tickets will be shared soon.
The Squad said: “Please remember to drive and park safely around our school. We all have the right to be safe.”
