After last week’s cancellation of the Croquet North league match away at Bamburgh, ACC welcomed the Bedale club for a friendly match, writes Richard Peck.
Counting the total number of hoops scored rather than individual games, ACC triumphed by 94-64. Well done to all who played.
This week, the club will be introducing a group from Age UK County Durham to try their hand at the sport of croquet. If you would like to have a go at playing croquet, come down to the Chilton Miners’ Recreation Ground. Your first two sessions are free and after that if you feel you’d like to continue, it’s just £5 per visit. We have equipment you can use and tuition and coaching is also free.
We’d love you to come down to the MWRG which is just behind the Jet petrol station on the A167. SatNav ref: DL17 0HJ. Just wear flat shoes (trainers are fine), bring a waterproof jacket just in case and a hat to protect from the sun.
Come on your own or with a friend. Get some fresh air, gentle exercise and learn something new. We’re here on a Wednesday, Friday and Sunday afternoons from 2pm until 4pm.
