The Shildon Branch of the Royal British Legion will be holding a short service to commemorate VJ Day and the official end of the Second World War.
The service will be held at St John’s Church from 10.45am, on Saturday 16 August.
Shildon Town Mayor, Cllr David Bell will be in attendance and will be there to lay flowers at the Cenotaph.
A spokesperson for the RBL said: “Please come and support the armed forces past and present. Everyone is most welcome.”
