An exhibition of paintings and drawings by Members of the Guild of Railway Artists, which includes depictions from the Guild’s new book Emotions of Railway Art, is currently on display at Locomotion, the National Railway Museum at Shildon, and will be open to the public until Sunday 6th October.
Formed some 35 years ago the Guild has staged exhibitions of its members’ work in many parts of the country.
This is its 4th Annual Exhibition staged at Locomotion.
Around 100 works of art are on show from the well-known and the lesser known artists who are members of the Guild.
The subject matter for the exhibition, as with all Guild exhibitions, covers many aspects of the railways in a number of art mediums such as oils, watercolour, acrylics, pencil and more.
The Guild hopes that it will interest those who enjoy the railway scene both past and present as well as those with interests in fine art.
The majority of works of art on display are also being offered for sale.
