Giant cabbages, the waggiest tail, lolloping lamas, exotic creatures, birds of prey, sack races, face painting and all manner of vegetables, cakes, arts and crafts, delivered Chilton’s quintessentially British Summer Show.
People came from far and wide to participate in and enjoy Chilton’s annual community event in the glorious sunshine.
The show was launched by the Chilton Banner, providing a proud reminder that it was the Miners Welfare Fund that entrusted the recreational fields to the community of Chilton to use for days like these.
A spokesperson for the Town Council said: “We would like to thank all those who attended and joined in the day.
“Special thanks to our sponsors Lynn and the Chilton Gala Committee, Stewie Bulmer, Nerams, Lexon Girls, SHELTEE, Peter Grey and the Wheatsheaf, and all of our volunteers, stall holders, exhibitors and venders who helped make the day a great success.”
