Last week we reported that Shildon Railway Cricket Club’s F15 Team would be known as Shildon Locos and that their new kit would be black and orange.
However, the club colours for this innovative Durham Cricket League Friday night competition will now be pink and black.
“I don’t know if our representative who ordered the kit is slightly colour blind but it certainly isn’t orange,” said the club chairman. “Never mind, I’m sure the lads will look great,” he added.
Preparations for the new season are well underway. All teams are now able to practice in the outdoor nets at the Sportsfield, seniors on Thursdays and juniors on Fridays from 6pm.
The club is running Under-13s and Under-15s sides this year but is aiming to resurrect the Under-18s next season and possibly start an Under-11s team. No previous experience is necessary and the club is keen to welcome boys and girls from school years 4-10 to the practice sessions.
A good turn-out of volunteers is needed this Saturday from 10am to help complete the redecoration of the changing rooms and score-box and to finish boundary fence repairs and painting.
