Last year’s Ferryhill Poppy Appeal was launched during an event in Ferryhill Club, where they raised £351.
Schools were issued with the Poppy Appeal education packs to raise awareness of the Royal British Legion and why remembrance is so important.
Volunteers
Volunteers delivered collection boxes to local businesses, schools, churches and centres.
They also helped man the Poppy Appeal table in the local Coop.
A spokesperson said, “A great big thank you goes out to all, as without their help this would not have been possible.
“Finally, a big thank you to the people of Ferryhill who donated to the Appeal.
“Together, we raised £4,677.93.
“An amazing effort which deserves a large thank you.”
