Pooch helps Shildon couple tie knot

Saint John’s bell ringers were ringing the changes on Saturday 22nd April when Shildon’s Lauren Harwood married fiancé Brian Smith, also from Shildon.

The bride looked stunning with a beautifully embroidered dress and veil, whilst her bouquet coordinated with the groom’s accessories.

Walked down the aisle by her Dad, Mr Robert Harwood, Lauren was accompanied by her bridesmaid, twin sister Danielle, as well as four-legged family member Max.

Max was the couple’s ring bearer, keeping the jewellery safe helped by best man Chris and usher Paul.

The service was conducted by the Rev’d David Tomlinson, while Sylvia Barraclough played the organ.

After the service the couple celebrated with a reception at the Civic Hall before honeymooning in Tenerife.
