Police are to work alongside parking enforcement officers after several complaints were made at last month’s Byerley PACT meeting regarding parking around Timothy Hackworth Primary School. Residents are very concerned with the issue of illegal parking, mainly around school collection and drop-off times.
A spokesperson for Shildon police commented, “We take these complaints seriously because parking restrictions are put in place to avoid any kind of accident or injury from taking place, particularly when a high number of young children congregate in one place. “After the Easter break the police will work jointly with civil parking enforcement officers to commence a robust period of penalising motorists who park illegally.”
