Police are appealing for witnesses after a young man from Coronation was assaulted in a Bishop Auckland bar.
Between 12.30am and 1am on December 24th, during festive Christmas celebrations in Monaco Public House, an alleged unprovoked assault upon a teenage male occurred by a second male.
Such was the gravity of the assault that the victim had his ear bitten to the stage whereby it was cut clean through the skin, and he was also punched repeatedly in the face.
The victim was assisted by two female revellers.
The identity of these two female witnesses, and any other person who may have seen the incident occur, is urgently sought by police in the course of this ongoing investigation.
