Police are searching for a man who appeared in court for criminal damage following the incidents that occurred on Woodhouse Close recently.
John Ashley Kinsella appeared in Newton Aycliffe Magistrates court in relation to the spate of vandalism and arson on Tuesday 7th August, and received a 6am – 6pm curfew.
Kinsella has since failed to comply with his curfew conditions and police are asking anyone who may have information about his whereabouts to come forward.
The 19 year-old, of Lowther Road, denied being involved in the rampage, which involved racist graffiti being daubed across shop fronts on Proudfoot Drive.
If anyone has any information that could help with the investigation, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. There is a cash reward on offer for any information that leads to the arrest of Kinsella.
Police are also investing incidents of attempted arson attacks at Aclet Nursery, Iceland and Homebase, as well as an attack with bricks on firefighters who were distinguishing a bin fire on the estate. These incidents all occurred on the same night as the graffiti attacks.
Anyone with information can call Crimestoppers on the above number or Bishop Auckland Police on 101.
