Kirk Merrington Church was filled with the sound of brass recently when a packed church was entertained with a concert by the Pittington Brass Band.
As well as the band and audience, the picture also shows the church’s splendid new red carpet which they had been trying to acquire for at least the last five years.
“Many people gave kind donations towards it,” said a spokesperson for the church, “and it looks fantastic and feels so soft and springy underfoot.”
