On Saturday 29th March at the Shildon Civic Hall, from 7pm until midnight, there will be a charity fundraiser in memory and celebration of well-known Shildon lad, Ossie Bowes. In tribute to Ossie’s love of soul music, the headlining act is ‘Luther’, a true soul man direct from Chicago Illinois, who will provide a hip-shaking, finger-clicking repertoire of hits from Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, The Temptations and many more. Also performing will be Emily McNamee, former member of ‘Bad Lashes’, who sprang to fame on the X Factor, reaching the live finals alongside Alexandra Burke, Diana Vickers and JLS. The night will further feature DJ Roger with his 60’s Disco, A Trivia Quiz and a ‘Big Raffle’ with prizes including a personal tour of the Emmerdale Set by a celebrity cast member.
For the price of £5, it is promised an evening of music and cheer like no other.
All of the evenings entertainers have donated their time and talents free of charge, so every penny raised on the night will go to the charity Sepsis Trust.
Tickets are available at the Civic Hall on 01388 772902 or by telephoning Lesley on 07527 950249.
