A Ferryhill mother who was moments from death has thanked officers who performed vital CPR on her.
On Monday, January 15, officers from Ferryhill were called to an address on Derwent Road following reports of concerns for a woman who was unresponsive.
PC Dave Ditchburn and PCSO Chris Lloyd were first on scene and when they arrived, they discovered that the woman, Jodie, was not breathing so immediately instigated CPR.
After performing CPR for a couple of minutes, Jodie began to show signs of life and started to breathe again.
“Colleagues from our Roads and Armed Policing Unit landed shortly after and applied a defibrillator and continued to monitor her before paramedics arrived,” said a spokesperson for Durham Constabulary.
Jodie was transported to hospital and remained there for three days under observation until she returned home to her family.
Last Monday, she met with the team with a box of chocolates in hand and thanked them for their lifesaving efforts.
She brought her daughter Lillie who was very excited to meet the officers and look around the police station.
