This month’s ‘Messy Church’ at St John’s saw children and parents create various things in the Good Samaritan theme.
From gingerbread men wrapped in icing bandages to headbands and hearts where they wrote and drew pictures of how they could help someone, the group coloured and glued with vigour.
One parent told the Crier: “It’s so nice to come to something like this.
“My daughter loves to craft and it’s something I can spend time with her doing.”
The small congregation were shown videos teaching about the Good Samaritan who was without prejudice and stopped to help someone at their time of need.
After a few songs with fun actions that saw the full church joining in, they retired to juice and sandwiches in the vestry.
