Memorial fundraiser success

John-HayElm Road Club’s function room was packed out for a fundraising event to mark the anniversary of the passing of John Hay, a much-loved member of the Shildon community. The sell-out crowd were treated to a night of 60s music, performed by the Travellin Band and included a raffle and auction to add to the fundraising total. The event, organised by John’s partner, Sue Charlton and the family, raised the fantastic sum of over £2,200 on the night for causes close to John and the family’s heart: Diabetes UK, the Artificial Limb Centre of the John Cook Hospital and Shildon Football Club.

Towards the end of the evening, Sue and the family took to the stage to thank all who attended the evening and everyone who donated prizes for the raffle.
