As excitement builds for the launch of Stagepoint Studio’s first term at the Shildon Railway Institute, founder Jarone Macklin-Page is proud to introduce the talented team helping bring the project to life. Each member shares a passion for creativity, inclusion, and the belief that theatre can help people of all ages build confidence, courage, and connection.
Stagepoint Studio, which officially opens its doors this November, offers weekly acting workshops for ages 5–11, 11–16, and 16+. The classes are already proving popular, with both youth groups fully booked and a waiting list now open for future terms.
Jarone Macklin-Page, Stagepoint’s founder and creative director, trained professionally at Italia Conti and has worked across stage, screen, and leadership. His vision for Stagepoint grew from a simple belief that theatre has the power to change lives.
“Theatre changed my life,” Jarone said. “It helped me find confidence, direction, and a voice when I needed it most.
“I started Stagepoint Studio to pass that on, to give others the same chance to discover what they’re capable of.”
Supporting him this term are two creative professionals who share that same passion for using performance to inspire others.
Faye Marie brings over 14 years of experience working with young people across education and community settings. Her approach is rooted in teamwork and creativity, encouraging everyone she works with to express themselves freely and find joy in collaboration.
“Having worked with Jarone before, I’ve seen first-hand how he encourages and inspires confidence in others,” Faye said.
“When I heard about Stagepoint, I knew I wanted to be involved. It’s a place where children can learn, create, and have fun in a relaxed, supportive environment, and I’m so excited to be part of something that makes a genuine difference in the community.”
Sophie, who holds a BA (Hons) in Acting from Dundalk Institute of Technology in Ireland, also joins the team this term. With experience supporting children and young people in both schools and creative settings, Sophie has a calm and encouraging approach that helps every student find their own way to shine.
“I’m really looking forward to helping the children explore their creative potential,” Sophie said. “There’s something magical about watching confidence grow week by week, and Stagepoint is the perfect place for that to happen.”
With a growing team and a sold-out first term, Stagepoint Studio is quickly becoming a beacon for creativity and community spirit in Shildon.
