The generous owner of the garden at 2, Hillside Cottage, Low Etherley, DL14 0EZ has once again agreed to support the Bishop Auckland Fundraising Group of Marie Curie by opening her garden to support this worthy charity.
In this half acre mature cottage garden grass paths lead past a variety of beds filled with shrubs, grasses, perennials and trees, (both native and exotic), to a wilderness area with pool and wild flowers. A greenhouse with a collection of cacti and succulents, together with vegetable beds and mature fruit trees complement a large landscaped pond planted for wildlife. The magnificent views over Weardale and the surrounding countryside can be seen from the vantage of the many seating areas scattered throughout the garden whilst enjoying delicious cakes and savouries.
Sunday, 21 July – 11.30am – 4.00pm.
Entry £5 – children go free.
The group meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 1.30pm in St. Mary’s Church on Woodhouse Lane. New members are always welcome. Further details from Elizabeth Varley 01388 606075
