All Change, a spectacular open-air show at the 11 Arches site in Bishop Auckland, which stages the annual Kynren show, marked the official start of S&DR200 Festival on Saturday, 29 March.
The event sped through two hundred years of railway history and major historical moments, from the Industrial Revolution and two World Wars to the present, celebrating the transformative power of trains on the landscape and our lives.
Inspired by conversations with local historians, the spectacle brought history to life with large-scale set pieces, projection mapping, original music and a fleet of four hundred drones from world-renowned SKYMAGIC, creating a breathtaking visual experience set against the night sky.
The show was made possible with the support of one hundred and forty local volunteers, including sixty performers.
All Change was created by award-winning performance company imitating the dog and movement directors Rocky Norton and Katie Pearson.
