Dear Editor,
I write in response to your issue dated 3rd May and the article written by Spennymoor Independents in the hope that they can provide more detail about how the traffic concerns and resolutions associated with the impending opening of Springmoor school are developing?
We are only months away now from the official handover and I was surprised to learn that the original published figure of 630 pupils does not include the numbers also attending the nursery?
We who live in the area know only too well of the traffic issues created by parents who drop off and collect their children from St Charles infant/junior school up the road, and I don’t think we need to wait for a new school to open to suddenly realise the chaos it will create.
So, can we please have more detail of how the local authority intends to address the problem? Thank you.
