On Thursday 26 October, Sandra Nelson organised a fundraising event for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal at The Greyhound public house in Ferryhill.
Sandra sold craft goods she had made throughout the year, held a tombola and a bric-a-brac table. The Greyhound kindly provided a buffet for donation’s too.
Clare Metcalfe, Ferryhill Poppy Appeal Organiser said: “I would like to thank Sandra and all the staff at The Greyhound for their hard work and support and raising a fantastic total of £165.”
Donations like this go to support veterans in the area, where this year £19,617 from the Royal British Legion Welfare fund was used to help veterans in the DL17 postcode area.
