Whilst an away point is always welcome, Ferryhill Athletic will feel that they should have picked up all three following their away visit to Durham City as they missed several good chances in a match that they dominated, reports Chris Orton.
Owing to an injury to Kyle Quinn, Reece Marshall was brought into an otherwise unchanged side. The Latics started slowly and it was 30 minutes before they got their first opportunity. The home side, who were solid at the back, offered very little going forward.
The second period saw Ferryhill create a lot good chances to score but they couldn’t add the finishing touch. Durham’s best chance came in the 85th minute, but thanks to a last ditch tackle from Gilham, it came to nothing. By now the Latics were throwing everything at the home side, but without success, and the score remained at 0-0.
This coming Saturday, Ferryhill entertain Leam Rangers in the Washington Aged People’s Trophy at Dean Bank. Kick off in the game is at 2.30pm.
