Ferryhill Athletic’s second friendly match was against Northallerton Town Reserves at King George V playing fields on Saturday, which they won 7-2, reports Fraser Reynolds.
Lee Jewett brought Bennett, Gilham, Rowell and Dodds into the starting line up and they totally dominated the first half with a goal from Morland and two from Richardson. The second was a scorching 25 yard free kick which flew into the net.
It was a hot and sticky afternoon and Ferryhill brought on all of their substitutes for the second half. The visitors pulled a goal back with a fine strike from Turnbull. However, the Latics hit back immediately with close range goals from Linhart and Kyle Quinn. They were now fully in control and created chance after chance. Morland got his second, with Devine hitting number seven. In the dying minutes, Northallerton, who had battled on gamely, got their second goal of the match through Woods.
