King James I Community are beginning preparations early for the upcoming 24/25 season. Located at King James I Academy in Bishop Auckland and in collaboration with numerous local clubs including Shildon AFC, Bishop Auckland Ladies & Bishop Auckland Girls, the Community function anticipates to facilitate over 35 youth & adult football teams from September onwards.
To satisfy demand, a comprehensive grass-pitch maintenance plan including the installation of additional drainage is planned for the summer period, two new sets of 9v9 goals are to be added to the site following discussions with the Football Foundation, and new ball-retention netting is to be installed around the 3G facility in late-August. In addition, the Community’s indoor facilities have undergone recent development, including the installation of LED lighting, a new sound system, new netball equipment & more.
King James Academy’s Community Manager, Jake Pearson, added – “This marks a very exciting time for King James I Community as we complete the current season and look forward to 24/25. Our facilities have undergone significant development over the course of the previous 18 months and this would not have been possible without the support of the teams that we facilitate, the many local businesses who support the function commercially, and also the Football Foundation who have been very supportive in releasing funding during this period. We pride ourselves in offering the best possible facilities at one of the cheapest rates in the region and we look forward to this continuing into the future”.
