It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Santa and Mrs Claus.

Once again Chilton was transformed into a winter wonderland for the Christmas lights switch-on. There was Santa and Mrs Claus, ice queens, stilt walkers, roller-skating gift boxes, performances, an appearance from Bluey and of course snow!

Chilton Mayor Cllr Sue Reece said: “I would like to thank everyone who joined us for the light parade and switch-on – the weather didn’t deter us!

“Special thanks go to Mr and Mrs Claus, Chilton Academy Choir, Ferryhill Town Band, Bluey, all of the street entertainers and our very own Town Crier, Norman Strongman with Tia Moffatt on photography!

“Behind the scenes, keeping the show on the road, were Cllrs Pearl Malpas, Elizabeth Bruce, Diane Bright, David English and our own little elf, Pam Herbert.

“Thanks also to our new council members Rob Hirst and Stasha Zapert, Joanne and Anne from the council team; Elizabeth and Marion who opened St Aidan’s Church, Jen and Lynn who did a great job on the craft and raffle stalls for the Mayor’s Charity; plus our regular supporters, stall holders, vendors, Richardson Entertainment and Wayne on sound!”

Regulars include – Callum Howard, Zoë Bellingham, Jonny Jasper, Tonya Kelly, Jimmy and Joy Houlihan and The Coffee Den.
