In its final meeting until the Autumn season, Middridge History Society will host a talk by Chris Lloyd on Secret Darlington on Thursday 14th March at the Village Hall from 7.30pm.
Chris is already well known for his Memories supplement in the Northern Echo.
He will share some secrets about Darlington from his new book, Secret Darlington, which has just been published.
Stories from the book includes the likes of the Mill Town, the Black Sheep of the Pease and Backhouse families, the largest vat of brandy in the world, the art of lion taming and the world champion dart spitter.
“Please join us for the last of this season’s meetings,” said a spokesperson. Everyone is welcome and refreshments are included in the £3 admission charge.
