Harry lifts Les Wilson Trophy

Shildon Town Bowling Club’s monthly Saturday competition at the beginning of June was the Les Wilson trophy.

The three wood drawn singles round robin competition was won by Harry Brown, pictured with President Arnie Miller presenting the trophy and Alan Dickinson, who was runner up.

Shildon Town Bowling Club is desperately short of members of all ages and would welcome teenagers, adults of any age or just retired who haven’t played before. It is an excellent way to socialise and keep fit. Experienced players who would like to join are also welcome.

“We have teams in South West Durham and South West Durham Veterans leagues and have various internal competitions to compete in during the season,” said a spokesperson.

“New members are always welcome, so come along to our Tuesday night practice at 6.30pm and have go. For further information ring 07835 215426.”
