In October 2024 Astrid Academy of Movement, based in Kirk Merrington, are taking a team of gymnasts to compete in Gymnastique Magique – a competition to be held at Disneyland Paris.
This event will mark a huge milestone for, not only the gymnasts, but also the small, local gymnastic club, which during lockdown didn’t know if it would ever re-open. The club has sprung back and is now hoping to make dreams come true. The 20-strong Performance Team is made up of girls aged 9 to 22 years and they are training harder than ever to make the magic happen.
The club is hosting a range of events all year to help raise funds to assist with travel, kit, training and accommodation costs. Despite this, they would love the support of the community and local businesses. This could be the donation of a raffle prize, a contribution via the club’s gofund me page – or maybe your business would like to sponsor an event? Your business could be advertised on the gymnasts kit and get great exposure from the club’s social media pages.
