Glenys visits No.10

Glenys Newby, founder of Approach Too, at No.10 Downing Street.

Last week, Glenys from Approach Too was invited to attend a Local Community Safety event at 10 Downing Street with Tom Tugendhat, Minister of State for Security.

She said: “I obviously grabbed the opportunity with both hands and as you can imagine, banged the drum about the brilliant work children and young people do in Ferryhill to all who would listen.

“It was also an opportunity to invite those in government to come up to Ferryhill and speak with young people to help them bring about positive changes.”

Glenys added: “I would like to offer my thanks to Paul Howell MP for generously putting me forward for the invite, Durham Police and Crime Commissioner, Joy Allen for her continuing support of the Community Safety and Crime Prevention work of the Ambassadors and to the schools in Ferryhill for putting up with me.

“In challenging times it is so important that we never stop talking, listening, learning and working with everyone who can help our community.

“Hopefully then we can change fear and resentment into hope and understanding.

“Merry Christmas to all.”
