Durham County Council’s Wellbeing Service has a number of activities for adults taking place at the leisure centre.
We have Gentle Steps on Tuesdays from 10am until 11am,” said Community Wellbeing Co-
ordinator, Victoria Lee. This is a free activity and refreshments are provided.
“On Wednesdays we have walking football,” she added. The activity takes place from 1pm until 2pm and the first session is free. After that it is £3 per session.
“On Thursdays we still have the wellbeing walk from outside the library, starting at 10am until 11.30am, which is free every week,” said Victoria.
On Fridays, there is Gentle Track Cycle from 12.30 to 1.30pm. Bikes and helmets are provided, first sessions are free and then £3 thereafter.
On Fridays, from 2pm until 3pm there’s pay and play short tennis, badminton or table tennis, with equipment provided and again, the first session is free and it is then £3 thereafter.

Thank you so much for promoting the new activities in Shildon.
We have changed the walking football and badminton/short tennis and table tennis to free for the month of October.
The gentle cycle is now free every week.
The shildon walk has been reduced to one hour 10.15 to 11.15 followed by refreshments in the library
