UK Energy Management (UKEM) has agreed to underwrite the entire running cost of Spennymoor Town Football Club’s community clubhouse for the 2024/2025 season, as part of its commercial sponsorship package with the club.
Situated at the club’s Brewery Field Stadium, the clubhouse is home to its Moors in the Community charitable programme. Seasonal children’s parties are hosted there throughout the year, providing an affordable route for local families to celebrate Easter, Christmas, summer holidays and Halloween.
It was this focus on giving back to the community which inspired UKEM founder and CEO, Steven Copeland, to sponsor the club’s efforts.
“The facility is far more than a clubhouse, it’s a vital support hub which has provided a lifeline to hundreds of families,” said Steven, “particularly during the pandemic and cost of living crises, so as soon as we found out they were looking for support, we didn’t think twice. As a company, we take great pride in our North East roots and supporting the local community, and this is a club which shares those exact same values.”
