Shildon was full of colour, laughter and community spirit on Saturday 1 August at Hackworth Park as residents gathered for this year’s Fun4All Partnership event.
With perfect weather, a packed programme of free activities and entertainment for all ages, the event proved to be a great success and was enjoyed by families from across the town and surrounding areas.
Families were kept entertained throughout the day by Just Climb’s climbing wall, O’Brien’s Funfair who provided a Bungee Trampoline and Landmark Golf with queues at them all day, while the ever-popular Party Time Inflatables once again proved great entertainment with a Total wipe out and a bouncy castle.
There was also plenty of family entertainment, including the Bubble Whisperer, who delighted children with amazing bubbles, and Story Time with Big Al, provided by Shildon Alive, which brought excellent storytelling and colourful puppets for all the families to enjoy.
Visitors enjoyed a range of amazing animal displays from Gosling Raptors, Animal Story and Exotics, Spitfire APC, and All Aboard Flyball. Thank you to Shildon Police and the Bishop Auckland Fire brigade for attending.
A fantastic selection of food was available throughout the day from Papa Kel’s, Ronnies Fish & Chips, Searah’s Treats, Vera’s Treat van, Mr Whippy and Contact Cook with his amazing dirty fries.
Verbal Feedback from those attending was positive, with many praising the wide range of activities available for different ages. Organisations delivering activities also commented on how well the event was organised, while local charities reported a fantastic fundraising day.
Shildon Town Council would like to thank all the groups, organisations and charities that contributed by providing a stall.
A big thank you to those who helped towards funding the event, including County Councillor James Stephenson, Shildon Children and Young People Action Network, Livin and Shildon Alive, their support and contribution to another successful Fun4All event.
Thank you, Shildon, for helping to make Fun4All 2026 a day to remember.
