An exhibition on Woodhouse Close Modern School has proved to be extremely popular and now organisers are urging more past pupils to come go and help put names to faces.
Woodhouse Close Modern School: The Early Years, concentrating on the school between 1959 and 1968 and organised by Ian McLen, has been running at the Discovery Centre in Bishop Auckland for three weeks.
It has already had over 100 visitors through the doors who have helped contribute new material, which is now on display as well as old photographs, sports day and speech day programmes, press cuttings and a plan of the school.
Daniel Parmley, Information Assistant at the Centre said, “We are still on the search for more information regarding the school and students, particularly finding out the names of students in school photographs.
As there are only two weeks left of this exhibition I urge anyone who has not been to see this fantastic display to pay a visit to the Discovery Centre and take a trip down memory lane.”
Visitors to the exhibition are welcome to take along any memorabilia, photographs or mementos which will be photographed or scanned and returned.
The exhibition is on display until 30th October, open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm.
