Durham County Council’s Find and Fix Team have been busy in Ferryhill over the past few weeks tidying up the open space near to Lambton and Linden Roads.
They have cut back the shrubbed areas which has opened up the entrances to the public foot paths and the areas around the street lighting.
They have also fixed a couple of fences, repainted the street furniture, installed a new concrete base for the seat, removed graffiti from the dog bins, removed all the fly tipping from the shrubs, jet washed the bollards and edged all the footpaths.
Glenys from Approach Too said: “We only contacted the team a few weeks ago to see if they could help tidy up the area and their response has been phenomenal.
“It’s lovely to see the area get some TLC. The black path is very gloomy on an evening so hopefully cutting back and topping the trees will help.
“We are also organising a community litter pick with the Find and Fix it Team and DCC Civic Pride to add the finishing touches.
“If anyone has a free half hour on Thursday 5 December at 1.30pm, please come along and lend a hand, all the equipment will be provided.
“We will be meeting in the FSEC car park. A massive thank you to Dean and the Find and Fix it team.”
