Ferryhill Town Clerk recognised for CiLCA Qualification

Ferryhill Town Council were happy to welcome along to their Council meeting on Wednesday evening, Audrey Christie, Executive Officer & Councillor David Bell, Chair of the County Durham Association of Local Councils (CDALC). They came along to present Leeanne Owens, Town Clerk with a certificate for her recently completed Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) qualification. 

The CiLCA is a level 3 qualification, equivalent to an A level, it is a sought after qualification for Clerks to have and in County Durham only one third of Clerks have the certificate. Audrey said “I can’t praise Leeanne enough, the qualification requires a lot of determination, hard work, very good judgement and problem solving and the Council should be very proud”.

Councillor Bell, Chair of CDALC said “it is a pleasure to be here, the certificate used to be posted out and CDALC felt that all the hard work and time spent should be recognised and now a presentation take place, the Council should be proud”.

Mayor of Ferryhill, Councillor Angus Ferguson, thanked Audrey and Councillor David Bell for taking the time to come along to present the qualification and on behalf of the Council and Members he congratulated Leeanne and thanked her for her incredibly hard work.
