Over the Christmas period Ferryhill Methodist Church and Ferryhill Churches Together decided to fundraise for the Great North Air Ambulance who rely on donations to keep their service going.
On Friday 19 December members from the Churches sang carols in the local pubs and raised £370.
A collection taken at the Carol Service led by Rev. Elizabeth Catford along with Ferryhill Town Band raised £240.
With other collections and a donation from a wood carving group the total amount raised reached £800.
Sheonagh Jones, Community Fundraiser for Great North Air Ambulance came to the Friday Coffee Morning to receive the cheque.
The amount raised shows the generosity of Ferryhill people and we would like to give a massive thank you to everyone who participated in any way.
It has been very much appreciated.
